Breeding Aims

Our stud was formed in 1987, and as time has gone by we have concentrated on breeding the best quality commercial type sheep for the Lamb Industry. We have used sires sourced from the top Lambplan measured flocks through our membership of Meat Elite Australia.

They are big long bold clean headed rams suitable for buyers to join to Border Leicester Merino cross ewes or large framed Riverina Merino ewes to produce lambs for the Trade or Export lamb markets.

Our rams carry the genetics of balanced EBV’s with rapid growth and hindquarter muscling on a large correct frame.

Membership of Meat Elite Australia involves us with a large group of  Poll Dorset breeders across Australia who acquire and share the highest performing genetics available. Please visit the Meat Elite Australia website.

Lambplan recording  started in 1997 when we decided to weigh, measure and benchmark our sheep against others.

All Stud lambs are weighed at birth, 100 days and again at 200 days, and at this time all lambs are scanned for fat depth and eye muscle size.  From these measurements an ASBV or (Australian Sheep Breeding Value) is allocated to each Lamb. This is called the Carcase Plus Index, the higher the index the better value of the ram.

All ASBV information is available on request or at the Sheep Genetics Australia website. If you would like more information on Lambplan please contact either myself or visit the SGA website or Meat and Livestock Australia.

A strict summer drenching programme is followed up with regular 6 in 1 vaccinations. Our sheep are guaranteed free of Footrot and Lice, and we are certified Ovine Brucellosis Free, and we are a second generation vaccinated flock against Ovine Johnes Disease.

We welcome inquiries or inspections at any time.
